Another Baby Quilt

This is a baby quilt for a little boy of some friends in our old "home" town of Munich. I ended up using quite a few organic fabrics (Cloud9 for the foxes and frogs, Birch Fabrics for the green abacus print) in this. Cloud9 fabric is wonderful. I love their ethical approach and their quirky designs. I have not come across as much Birch Fabrics, but what I have seen so far has been lovely.

I designed this quilt in EQ7. It was great for playing around with the layout and colour scheme, but I still made some final changes once I had sewn up the blocks. I quilted using a large cross hatch pattern, but left out a large diamond in the middle. My next "to do" is to actually use my Grace quilting frame as I don't think this particular pattern did this quilt justice.

I used long strips of the various fabrics featured on the front to make the back. It is now with its new owner in Munich :-)
