Welcome to Mukiyo, my new blog about modern quilting and life in general. I have been quilting for about eight years and over the past few years I have been delving deeper and deeper into the world of modern quilting. I have this sneaking suspicion that my nearest and dearest are sick of hearing about fat quarters, thread tension and batting, so I decided to find a new outlet through which I can share my quilting passion with like-minded folk, namely this blog. I consider myself to be a modern quilter, but I do have great respect for traditional quilting methods and often draw on them when designing a new quilt. Whether your idea of quilt heaven is making pinwheel blocks in authentic 19th century colour ways, or you go for solids and negative space to create a striking, contemporary quilt top, the most important thing is that you have fun and love what you do.
